THE MANASSAS HAMFEST
"The 44th Manassas Hamfest"
Manassas, Virginia
will take place on a Sunday in early June, 2017
exact date to be announced

.

 Latest Announcements and Events:
The NEXT REGULAR OVH MEETING will be on: Monday, August 21,
2017 in Room 202 in the Development Services Building at the
Prince William County Government Center (McCoart Center). This is
located off of Prince William County Parkway south of Manassas.
Download a PDF file with further information about the location.
Please remember that this location is well south of Manassas so
plan to need additional time to get there by 7:30 pm when the
meeting will start. Non-members, whether hams, prospective
hams or other individuals interested in learning about ham radio,
are invited to attend without obligation of any kind.

Please note that the new W4OVH.NET web site is expected to go "live"
at this URL beginning sometime after about August 4, 2017. Although
great efforts have been made to make the transition to the new
web site as smooth as possible, for various technical reasons, glitches
are unavoidable and several weeks may be needed to resolve all of them.
Special thanks to Kevin/KX4KU and Andy/KJ4MTP for their massive work
efforts on the new W4OVH.NET web site. It is expected this "old"
W4OVH.NET web site will be archived (with no further updates) but
still be available through the new W4OVH.NET web site.

The August 2017 OVH Newsletter should be posted here by August 17th.
To find it and many earlier Newletters, go to the "About the Club"
tab, and then scroll down on that page to OVH Newsletter download
             links for the PDF files.

A successful 2017 OVH / ARRL Field Day event took place at the
Pavilion at the Nokesville Community Park, 12560 Aden Road,
Nokesville, Virginia on Saturday / Sunday June 24/25, 2017 attended

implementing matching networks was presented by Ken / KE2N. You may
download Ken's color handouts here. Look for more info and pictures about

A very successful Manassas Hamfest took place on Sunday, June 4, 2017
for the 43rd time - a major annual OVH club event. Thanks to all
hams and vendors who attended, to the Hamfest Chairman, Terry / KC4DV

Karl's slides from that presentation are now posted on this web
site and available for download here as a PDF file. The slides
include a link where it is possible to purchase a kit of the parts.

Please note the "social media" icons above which provide direct
links to the OVH's new Twitter and Facebook accounts. Special
thanks to Jeff / KM4FTK for creating these new "social media"
accounts; until the OVH has more experience, Jeff or another
designated OVH "social media" user will serve as the moderator
             of the content on each.

To all users of OVH's repeaters: the D-Star repeaters have been
relocated to the NOVEC yard tower on Liberia Avenue, and are
functioning locally but without an Internet connection; The
146.970 and 442.200 FM repeaters are now operating with new
antennas at the Mt. Pone water tower site. Local coverage for
these repeaters is improved. The 442.2 repeater is now set up
for and being tested for Yaesu C4FM/FM WIRES operation. Go to
the "Repeaters" and D-Star" tabs on this page for more info.

Active OVH members - the Club Members page here has a hyperlink
to a "Members Only" web page for which a login is required. That
page has the most up-to-date list of all active members, with
detailed contact information for each making it very easy to find
and contact other members, and additional club information for
specifically for members. Login details are provided to all active
members; the login information is changed from time to time -
renew you active membership to maintain access to The "Members
             Only" web pages.

system. How to do that is explained on the "OVH Nets" page here.
